Project: 002// Speak Thy Soul (ft. Opus)

Yay! We totally finished another track today! Its called Speak Thy Soul and it features three insightful young gentlemen including yours truly. *toot*

Opus, the young chicago native is a poet/photographer from Chicago's lower east side who lends his smooth vocals to the first verse. He illustrates the origin of his free-thinking on the first sixteen, followed up by Space Academy on the second and third verses.

Enjoy!
We've still got work to do.

Mission: 001// Open Mic @ Club Cash's

...Oh, man. So, I totally got my sea legs last night...*toot*

There was an open mic at Club Cash's last night on Okaloosa Island. A small turn out, but 'who cares' says I. Twenty people is more than enough of an audience for this novice. All in all, I wouldn't say i utterly rocked all 20 people sitting below me with their cheap liquors, but i did my thing, and the best i could at that..

hmmm...

A three-song set, and 10 mins was all i needed to show the people what i was all about.

I handed the DJ a disc i had just burned an hour before, because i had decided to go through with it and just spill my guts on stage with all the other amateurs. He ran the tracks overhead during sound checks as i walked around with the wireless mic. *gasps heard all around* 'who's that?'
'what's that music playing?'

I just waited my turn as the first act's 808 kit rang out above my head and my drunken pals are like, ''aww its ok man, you'll do fine.'' and i'm trying not to look nervous in front of the other acts lol (-like i care what they think, its just principle.) And then, DJ Tiger and host Chris Berry introduce me as "Nathaniel Space".

[FF through dry humor on stage to hide the fear eating away at my insides, a deafening feedback causing me to stumble through my own lyrics sometimes, and my own ridiculous bass pounding the stage around me...]

[...and Stop.]

I did it. and as self critical as i am, i realize, im just an amateur. I dont get paid for this. Why should i be so hard on me'self? I love music, and as of now, im officially a live performer. A rookie, yes. But if im gonna change the world someday, i gotta start somewhere right?
