Diamonds are forever...?

Oo0oh, check this out.

So, i've known this for a couple of days now, but I wasn't sure if it was real. It's still being investigated, in fact.

It seems that scientists may have discovered new minerals, proven to be harder than diamonds.

Diamonds. wtf.

Now maybe it sounds a bit geeky, but why does this excite me a little on the inside? Well, just think about what could happen in the decades to come. I mean this is history, right?

-Industrial cutting tools that already use diamonds to cut through minerals and rock and stuff, could be further developed and upgraded with stronger minerals.

-The companies that use diamonds as semi-conductors/insulators could use the new research too, perhaps to create faster and better tech (the better to make music with?)

-Higher taxes because public schools will need more money to replace outdated science books! *tsk tsk, lol*

Oh, and they're called Londsaleite (said to be 58% harder..?!), and Wurzite (estimated @ 18%).

-Yeah, and then soon perhaps, every woman will want this new rock on her finger, and the commercial rappers with their bogus record deals and punchlines will want wurzite wrapped their wrists & necks lol. who knows... these new stones do look just as bright though...mmm..

... And check this, they're only formed when asteroids & meteorites hit the earth. Yup. Either that, or volcanic eruptions, like regular diamonds.

Still feel like waiting around for one?[gizmodo]

Codename: "Idou"

Sony Ericsson = pwnage this year.

If what they have in the works turns out to be everything its hyped for, their next touchscreen/multimedia phone codenamed, "Idou" is a red beam right between the eyes of the iPhone 3G . Scheduled for release in the "second half of 2009", its got this insomniac going, "OMFG." [gizmodo]

 A 12MP camera + "full media consumption?" WTF= all i can say.

mmmhmmm.. as a once famous Jermaine Dupri said in his prime, "...I gots ta haaave it."

Karaoke Session @ Scoreboard!!

Man, this never gets old. I love Karaoke. *air guitar*

So I hopped on the CBR 600 and went out on the town last night.. saw a lil' Friday the 13th (y'know what? it was actually ok...), ran over to Jae Rich's pad, and then met up with some good pals at Scoreboards. Of course, they had the mics set up again this week, and i did my thing.

Only one red Corona this time...

Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World, and Come Close to me, by Common. mmm... Loved every off-key second of it. JAe Rich got up and did what he does naturally well to Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amor" and Musiq's "Just Friends." (no fair, lol he's really a singer!)

People loved it as usual, heads turning to me actually singing instead of rapping, and then 45-cent wings and pitchers of imported beer all around. Good times. Wish you were here, Chris.

You too, ppl. G'night!

Foreign English

...a language the likes of which you may have never heard... or have you?

Its the thing to do, isnt it? Taking a familiar tune, compressing and sampling it, then re-editing it the way you see fit over a drum loop, etc; But what is to be said about the few pioneers who really try to get innovative on one of hip-hop's oldest cliches?

Listen for yourselves to the refreshing approach of Mr. Foreign English. A native of the DC Metro Area he brings to the genre a set of skills seen only by the enemies of Hattori Hanzo himself.

Merciless chopping and murdering with the old school/new school funk & R&B. Gracefully applying the techniques he learned as a youth in the after school music programs, a young, enthusiastic lyricist/photographer would someday grow into the multi-talented producer/rapper/graphic designer known as Foreign English, none more distinguished. bless.

Indeed, sir. Can't wait to come kick it again in D.C. this summer.
